The La Cañada Children's Center is a ministry of the La Cañada United Methodist Church.  Over the last twenty years, the Center's goal has been to offer a warm and nurturing environment.   We strive for a school that is rich in opportunity and allows each child to experience the joy of learning.  As educators, we believe such joy leads to a lifetime of academic independence.  

                                                      Half and full day programs with 2-3-5 day options for preschoolers from ages 2-5.  Open from 7:00A.M. until 6:00P.M.

Beliefs and Curriculum                                                                                                

We believe in and support the uniqueness of each family and child. We nurture and encourage each child to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Our curriculum is designed to stimulate these areas of learning in the developmentally appropriate manner.  The daily schedule, curriculum, and activities for each group are posted in the classroom and available to parents. The two and three year old class features the  Your Baby Can Read program by Dr. Bob Titzer.  The four and five year old class features the Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read and Math programs. 

Enrichment
The Childrens' Center offers the following weekly enhancement classes as a part of our educational program.

-Kid Fit - A health, fitness, and aerobics class.                                                                  

-Music with Halina - A developmentally appropriate, delightful, and lively music class.           

-Karate - A fun class which teaches non-aggressive conflict resolution, stranger awareness and strange animal safety that is available for ages three and up (Optional).
